STA Pool Plant Operator Course

Safe, clear and hygienic water in swimming pools, spas and interactive play features is what all pool plant operators should strive for. STA’s pool plant qualifications provide learners with the training they need to ensure the safety of all users of wet leisure facilities, whilst also complying with the health, safety and legal requirements of being a qualified operator.

Who is the course for?

This qualification is for people who have a specific responsibility for pool plant operations, maintaining plant rooms, ensuring safe bather conditions and water testing.

Course Content:

This qualification is to enable learners to develop the skills, knowledge and understanding required to ensure the safety of swimmers, users, operators and other persons.

 

The qualification provides the theory behind pool plant operations and maintenance, as well as providing learners with information on best practice principles and information on health, safety and legal responsibilities.

​

This qualification is assessed through a practical demonstration of water testing and completion of a multiple-choice assessment.

​

To pass the qualification learners must satisfactorily complete the practical assessment and meet the minimum competency deemed by the minimum pass marks for each unit in the multiple-choice assessment.

​

Once completed this qualification lasts for 5 years.

What does this course Cost?

  • This three-day course can be run at your own business premises. All that is required is a room and a swimming pool.​

  • The maximum number of candidates on each course is 16 at a cost of £2995 which includes all tuition, materials and certificates. 

  • ​If you only require a few spaces then there is an option to join a course already running at another venue for £350 each OR be the host for the course and have one space free.
