Who needs a Management System?

You're not required by law to implement a formal management system, but they can help provide a structured framework for ensuring a safe and healthy workplace.

If your business is small or low-risk, you'll probably be able to demonstrate effective risk management without this sort of system.

For larger companies these systems  are key to ensuring the company fulfils their legal obligations to their staff and customers.

What does it involve:

Our trained Health and Safety Advisor will visit at a time to suit you and discuss different aspects of your business in order to ascertain the type of Management System that would be most effective for your company.

Once a system has been decided the advisor will need to gather all the relevant information in order to put this system together. This is completed in different ways depending on the specific business but may include:

talking to staff members

reviewing accidents & injuries

looking at the layout of the building

watching tasks being completed

Once all the information has been gathered the advisor will go away and put together the Management System. The length of time this will take depends on the size of the company and the scope of the business.

Sometimes, when working through a document, other hazards become apparent and extra information may be needed which can also affect the time it takes to produce. Our advisor will keep in contact throughout the process to keep you up-to-date if this happens.
