Course Content:

The STA pool lifeguard qualification covers all elements of Pool Rescue Techniques, Lifeguarding Theory, First Aid and CPR. The course is physically demanding and will include swimming to set times, lifting casualties and diving to the deepest part of the swimming pool.

Training and assessment for the course are in three sections, and candidates must successfully pass all sections to attain the qualification.

To run this course we will need access to a training room and use of a swimming pool.

Once completed the qualification lasts for three years and lifeguards will need to attend regular training sessions which cover the programme contents and ensure that all lifeguards are up to date with any new changes and fully competent within their role.
