Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)

The Emergency First Aid at Work course is a one day first aid qualification that covers a range of CPR and emergency first aid skills. Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) provides employers and your staff with the skills to reduce the risks and dangers in your workplace – because a safe working environment is a basic right for all workers and a responsibility for all employers.  

The Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) qualification is suitable for all industries and enables employers to meet HSE and HSENI requirements. After completing an RLSS UK EFAW course, candidates receive a Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work qualification.

RLSS UK’s Emergency First Aid at Work training is CIMSPA endorsed, which means it has been quality-assured by CIMSPA. RLSS UK is an active member of the First Aid Awarding Organisation Forum (FAAOF) whose remit is to collaborate on best practice and maintain quality to ensure the integrity and currency of regulated qualifications.

Who is the course for?

Everyone! Individuals and organisations are advised to take an Emergency First Aid at Work course to provide and deliver first aid skills within their workplaces. Candidates must be a minimum of 16-years-old at the time of taking the Emergency First Aid at Work assessment, and no prior first aid knowledge is required.

What does it involve:

The EFAW course is 6 hours and can be delivered in one day. The course comprises practical work and theoretical classroom work and covers a range of subjects, including:

  • Understanding the role and responsibilities of a first aider

  • How to manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally

  • How to manage a casualty who is in shock How to assess an incident

  • How to recognise and assist a casualty who is choking

  • How to manage a casualty with a minor injury

  • How to manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally

  • How to manage a casualty with external bleeding

The EFAW course is trainer assessed and comprises of practical work and theoretical classroom work. There is a practical assessment on CPR and first aid, and all assessment criteria must be achieved to pass the course.

What does this course Cost?

This one day course can be run at your own business premises. All that is required is a room, with enough space, and a tv to use for the PowerPoint presentation.

The maximum number of candidates on each course is 12 at a cost of £795 which includes all materials and certificates.  

​

If you do not want all 12 spaces there is an option to pay per person at a cost of £95 each. Please contact us for more information.
